March 2020 5 Welcome to March and boy do we have a packed issue for you this month? Between Spring of Culture – which runs to five full pages in the Happenings section, with more online – and the big F1 weekend, there’s lots to look forward to. In the regular Happenings, there are plenty of places to spend a colourful Holi, as well as international musician and DJ appearances, beach parties, tribute acts and more. Following on with the events theme, we’ve rounded up themed brunches and nightlife for St Patrick’s Day and have come up with some great gift ideas and more brunches to help you celebrate Mother’s Day. Our interviews this month include an exclusive chat with Farouk Almoayyed, Chairman of YK Almoayyed Group of Companies, who shares tales from his childhood and thoughts for the future. Gavin Lawlor, of Bahrain Irish Society, gives us the lowdown on the St Patrick’s Day Ball, and hotelier extraordinaire, Ebrahim Kooheji, talks about his 40 years in the business. Ahmed Alammadi, the new CEO of Diyar Al Muharraq, gives an overview of the major development and special consultant, Bill Grieve, talks advice and action. In the Motoring section, lucky Dick takes another spin in the Ferrari Tributo, this time a shiny red one, no less. And he also put the new Mercedes-Benz C200 through its paces. While, in dining, Liz gives her recommendations for the yummiest dishes at what sounds like her new favourite eatery. We’ve stuck with the Irish theme in the Travel pages and, I must say, looking at them, I am getting itchy feet. And, of course, there are our regular pages of news from the worlds of business and motoring as well as the lifestyle section where you’ll find music, movies and TV and the latest tech recommendations. In the Woman This Month section we have trends for the new season, which looks to be all about Flower Power, as well as healthy recipes and tips on walking yourself to wellness. Our interviewee is Kata Draxler, the Kingdom’s only female dragon boat captain, who wants us all to join her on the water. March looks like being a great month so make sure to keep BTM close at hand for your guide to a great way of life. As we went to press, cases of Coronavirus were increasing in the Kingdom.
