BTM July 2012 91 movies The Paperboy Why anyone in this movie chose to sign this particular contract baffles us. Although we have a tolerance for bad movies, it takes more than a lot of effort to go through one that is just wrong. Unfortunately this Nicole Kidman and John Cusack starrer happens to be of the latter kind. More than once, you end up thinking, “What?!” Snow White and the Huntsman Reinventing a legendary story can be tricky as proven by the ill-fated Mirror, Mirror. Having gone for Charlize Theron more than Lady Poker Face, this one (shockingly) wasn’t so bad. The cinematography and costume design deserve much praise. Most found it a bit too long and, at times, too depressing. MOVIE OF THE MONTH Madagascar 3 (3D) RATING: DIRECTED BY: Eric Darnell, Tom McGrath, Conrad Vernon STARRING: Ben Stiller, Jada Pinkett Smith, David Schwimmer, Chris Rock THE PLOT: Alex, Marty, Gloria and Melman are still fighting to get home to their beloved Big Apple and of course, King Julien, Maurice and the penguins are with them through the comedic adventure. Their journey takes them through Europe where they find the perfect cover — a travelling circus, which they reinvent, Madagascar style. WORTH WATCHING? With most good movies, viewers often flinch at the thought of a sequel. When we found out a third instalment is on its way, it was natural to wonder why they had to test their luck. This is one way to take a tour across Europe. If you aren’t laughing, you’re at least smiling. Why shouldn’t you, especially when you’re bombarded with such a talented cast. It’s full of energy and it’s goofy. What’s not to like about that? VERDICT: You know what they say. The third time’s a charm.
