AlDana Expo 2012 | Venue? Gulf Hotel A collection of workshops this month will give you the chance to learn a different sort of craft; namely, perfume design. Devised by Valerie Lovisa, a French perfumer and pharmacist currently working as a perfume designer at Designer Shaik, Perfume Design examines the scented heritage of Arabia and reflects on the scientific creation process as well as personal tastes and interests. The perfume design workshop will be split into a theoretical component and a practical component. The theoretical class will allow participants to have an understanding of the art of perfume design through interactive discussions and smelling sessions. As it focuses on fragrance composition, this class provides an important introduction to the practical class (perfume formulation) which follows as participants will be able to define the scents which attract them. The second class in this custom-designed workshop will introduce each participant to 32 raw materials from which personalised and individual perfumes will be developed. By the end of the workshop, participants will have manufactured different perfume samples and will be able to take home a 30ml sample of their own perfume. The perfect way to bottle your perfect scent, just how you like it! E Call 17 001-908. When? July 7, 8, 14,15 | Event? Perfume design | Venue? Bahrain National Museum Sweet Scents
