womanthismonth.com | SEPTEMBER 2026 WOTYA 2026 75 challenges women face in their careers, the workplace and society. The most important quality I bring from this journey is persistence and the determination to keep going. What experience and expertise do you bring to the jury panel? As a juror, I have a responsibility to evaluate and select women who are driving success and transforming their industries and societies. What qualities, achievements and personal values will you be looking for when assessing this year’s nominees? I will be looking for women who normalise ambition and encourage persistence, as well as those who build confidence and foster inclusion in their own unique way. What message would you like to share with the women nominated for the Woman of the Year Awards 2026? My message to all the women nominated is to enjoy the next few weeks and celebrate being nominated, which in my mind is a great achievement in itself. Share ideas and network with the other like-minded women. Is there anything else you would like to add? The Woman of the Year Awards is a platform that creates role models and grows careers. I hope it will continue to support women and open doors to greater opportunities throughout their journeys in life. What does it mean to you to serve as a jury member for the Woman of the Year Awards 2026? It means so much to me to celebrate women’s achievements in the Kingdom of Bahrain and honour women who achieve and continue to inspire society across different sectors and in various capacities. What are your thoughts on the awards and their role in recognising and celebrating women’s achievements in Bahrain? The awards play an important role in allowing us to recognise high achievers and bring their stories home to inspire women. They cover many areas of expertise, which is important in ensuring that women from different walks of life have the opportunity to be honoured. How has your own career journey shaped the professional you are today? I have been fortunate to work in the public and private sectors for many years and understand the CEO of Bahrain Food Monitor and MENA Centre for Investment Dr. Hana Kanoo joins the 2026 Woman of the Year Awards jury, bringing extensive experience across the public and private sectors.
