He fixes smiles and, apparently, inspires a few giggles too. Spotted at? Raffles Al Areen Palace Bahrain, enjoying the Spotted by Bahrain This Month Dr. Abed or... Mr. Bean? Who? Dr. Abed Mediterranean brunch in true weekend style. Doing what? He’s visiting Bahrain to attend a friend’s wedding and enjoy a few days of sunshine. We found him tucking into good food, greeting fans – including our very own Publisher and Chairman, George F. Middleton – and making everyone do a double-take. Memorable anecdotes? “What’s funny is that Mr. Bean once did a dentist sketch,” he laughs. “Sometimes young patients walk in, see me, and whisper, ‘I didn’t know I was seeing Mr. Bean!’ I just shake their hand, pull a funny face, and it helps them relax.” How does it feel to ‘Look-A-Like’ Rowan Atkinson? “He’s a household treasure in the UK, and everyone knows who Mr. Bean is,” says Dr. Abed. “So I don’t mind at all.
