28 November 2018 www.bahrainthismonth.com happenings The fastest-growing airshow in the Middle East takes place this month at the Sakhir Airbase. The 2018 Bahrain International Airshow, under the patronage of HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, will feature the largest and most exciting line-up of activities yet, both in the sky and on the ground. The fifth biennial Bahrain International Airshow is now established as the region’s pre-eminent platform for business generation and networking across the aerospace industry. It has generated 90 per cent in economic impact since its 2010 launch. Endorsing Bahrain as a great place to do business, 100 per cent of trade exhibitors who attended the 2016 show confirmed they would attend future shows, and return to Bahrain for business or holiday purposes, underscoring the show’s position as one of the Kingdom’s most important events. TRADE SHOW – November 14-16 Business Generation Organised by the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications in cooperation with the Royal Bahraini Airforce, the Bahrain International Airshow (BIAS) offers unprecedented business networking opportunities via its three-day military and commercial delegations programme, a focused conference programme, on-floor knowledge theatre, and an exhibition hall situated in the hangar at Sakhir Airbase. Innovation The Exhibition Hall at the show is the place to be for companies who want to demonstrate their latest products and technologies. Twice the size of previous shows so that it now occupies the entire hangar, BIAS will host around 120 companies in the hall. The flying and static aircraft display is a key feature of BIAS and one of the show’s biggest attractions. An estimated 110 aircraft will be displayed on the runway at Sakhir Airbase, providing visitors with a rare opportunity for trade visitors to get up close to the very best in aviation. The Flying Display enables participants to demonstrate their aircraft’s capabilities, flying alongside military and aerobatic display teams. Connection BIAS hosts leaders and decision-makers from throughout the aviation industry, with military and commercial delegations attending the show enabling participants to meet face-toface with senior industry and government attendees invited by Bahrain. Inspiration Designed as a place where expertise, knowledge and new ideas can be exchanged, the BIAS 2018 conference programme presents major opportunities for attendees to be inspired by the latest developments in the industry: The second biennial ‘Manama Air Power Symposium’ brings together air force chiefs and leading experts to address emerging issues from across the region.
