SUBARU IN MOTION The Middle East’s premier jewellery and watch exhibition, Jewellery Arabia 2015, will be held under the patronage of the Prime Minister of Bahrain His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, from November 24 to 28 at the BIECC. The exhibition is the largest in the prestigious 24-year history of the series, featuring over 600 exhibitors from 30 countries. A huge range of finished jewellery, luxury timepieces, precious stones, antiques, objets d’art and jewellery technology from across the globe will go on sale during this five-day spectacle, which is expected to attract over 50,000 visitors. Famous jewellery houses including major brand names Gather your mates and head on over to the Bahrain Rugby Football Club for a cracking time, as the Bahrain Irish Festival returns. This year’s event is set to be the biggest yet, with three days of live sport, music and entertainment. Joining these groups are a host of independent companies from all over the world, including a selection of Bahrain’s leading jewellers. Additionally, the world’s most valuable guitar (certified by Guinness World Records) will make its Middle East debut at the exhibition, as part of a global tour, on November 24. The CORONET Gibson, estimated at USD2 million, is a fully functional guitar adorned with 11,441 diamonds (401.15 carats) set in 1.6kg of 18k white gold. On the sidelines, the 11th Middle East Watches, Jewellery and Pen Awards will be held at the Four Seasons Hotel on November 23. The Rugby Club will be at the centre of attention again on November 27, as the Middle East Gaelic Football League rolls into town. A record number of 80 men’s and women’s teams will battle it out across senior, junior and intermediate levels. Off the pitch, there will be a host of Irish entertainment and fare on offer, with plenty to keep the children occupied, including face-painting, magicians and more. Irish rockers Big Generator will be the headline act for the night, supported by Declan O’Sullivan (aka the Paddyman) as well as DJ Ollie. The festival will continue with the traditional posttournament breakfast and official closing ceremony at JJ’s Irish Restaurant in Adliya on November 28. Arguably the most popular part of the festival programme, this year’s closing ceremony is expected to be a bumper edition, with more live music from the Paddyman as well as representatives from competing clubs.
