44 May 2019 www.bahrainthismonth.com motoringnews&launches Nissan unveiled an all-new sedan and displayed two electrified concept vehicles at this year’s Shanghai International Automobile Exhibition. The sedan features Nissan’s latest distinctive design cues and offers an array of technologies that embody Nissan Intelligent Mobility, the company’s vision for changing how cars are powered, driven and integrated into society. The IMs defines a new vehicle segment – the elevated sports sedan. The vehicle’s design takes advantage of its 100-per-cent electric powertrain, with the battery located under the body. Along with an extended wheelbase, this results in an elevated, spacious cabin that allows for an innovative seating layout. In autonomous driving mode, the IMs features completely hands-free operation. In manual mode, it delivers the exciting, high-performance driving experience that only an advanced electric vehicle can provide. New Model Unveiled Following a comprehensive upgrade, one of Porsche’s most popular models, the Macan, is now available in Bahrain. The brand’s compact SUV has evolved in terms of comfort and driving dynamics, with two engine versions available at launch, the Macan and the more powerful Macan S. The Macan comes to the starting line with an enhanced 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, producing 252hp and delivering a maximum torque of 370 Nm. It accelerates from zero to 100km/h in 6.5 seconds (when equipped with the optional Sport Chrono Package) and reaches a top speed of 227km/h. The Macan S is powered by a new V6 engine, which was first introduced in the new generations of the Panamera and Cayenne. The high-tech power unit produces 354hp (an increase of 14hp compared to its predecessor) and a torque output of 480 Nm. As a result, acceleration to 100km/h is just 5.1 seconds with the optional Sport Chrono Package; its top speed is 254km/h. The vehicle dynamics of the Macan remain a principle feature. The revamped chassis increases driving pleasure, offering stability and improved comfort thanks to newly developed mixed-size tyres, enhanced brakes and the intelligent all-wheel drive Porsche Traction Management (PTM) system. The range of standard equipment has been further enhanced. Customers can now enjoy features such as a panoramic sunroof, automatically dimming mirrors and ParkAssist in front and rear with reversing camera, at no extra cost. And a further evolved design language is visible in the new Macan, giving it an even more distinctive and confident appearance.
