A recently announced new tight oil discovery off the Kingdom’s coast is estimated to be Bahrain’s biggest ever find. The delegation was led by His Excellency Shaikh Mohamed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Bahrain’s Minster of Oil. He was joined on the visit and the forum by other senior US and Bahraini officials, the management of AmCham Bahrain and industry leaders and decision makers from Bahrain’s energy sector. Bahraini Delegation at Amcham Forum Dr Mohammed Al-Jabri, CEO of the United Gulf Industrial Corporation, has announced a project to construct the world’s tallest residential tower in Bahrain as part of a unified Gulf project. The iconic structure will be 385 metres in height and will comprise five-star serviced apartments and malls within its expanse as well as the largest advertising display screen ever seen to date. The building is also believed to be entered in the Guinness Book of World Records. This announcement was made on the sidelines of Business Development Forum and Expo (BDFEX-2019), where it was confirmed that the main designs of the project have been completed. Eightyfive per cent of the project’s financing has been arranged, while the remaining portion will be secured when suitable land is provided either by the partnership with investors or by the government. Gulf Air, the national carrier of the Kingdom, gives cyclists an extra baggage allowance to include one free bicycle over and above their original ticket allowance. The bicycle must be packed within an acceptable purposedesigned cover, weighing 15kg or less. The new policy has been introduced in response to an increasing demand from athletes who fly to attend and participate in various sporting events within the global Gulf Air network. Gulf Air’s CEO Krešimir Kučko said: “Gulf Air is enhancing its baggage allowance for athletes to promote a healthy lifestyle within its customer base. By allowing athletes to take their sport equipment for free – over and above their original baggage entitlement – we help make their travel logistics and journeys much easier and hassle free”. Earlier this year Gulf Air announced that one free golf bag would be allowed for golfers.
