The company is now the first operator in the Kingdom to enable adoption of 5G service and is planning further rollouts across the country. VIVA says its early adoption of 5G technology, despite the current limited availability of devices and services worldwide, is driven by its vision to spearhead the digital transformation of Bahrain and the telecommunications landscape. 5G Is Coming Bahrain Islamic Bank (BisB) has announced the appointment of Mohammed Mattar as the new money laundering reporting officer (MLRO) within the bank’s Compliance Department. With 13 years of experience in the antimoney laundering (AML) field, he will be in charge of establishing and maintaining the bank’s AML/CFT (combatting the financing of terrorism) policies and procedures, ensuring BisB complies with AML law and any other applicable legislation and regulations. In addition, he will be the bank’s main point of contact in respect of handling internal suspicious transactions reports. Mohammed holds a master’s degree in finance and a number of professional qualifications including Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), the highest international professional certification in this field. He has been with the company since 2008. DHL Express has appointed Ali Aryan as the new GM of its Middle East and Africa distribution hub and gateway facility, headquartered in Bahrain. Celebrating 31 years with DHL, Ali is the first Bahraini to hold this important position, and brings with him a wealth of industry knowledge and business-related experience. Ali joined DHL in 1988 as a courier, and since then has held various positions within the company, including customer service and telesales in the Bahrain Country Office. He later moved to DHL’s Bahrain Hub where he took up a variety of posts across different departments, rising through the ranks to eventually take on the role of general manager of DHL’s Bahrain Hub and Gateway, which is the company’s main hub in the region. As GM, he is responsible for supervising the hub’s operations and ensuring efficiency and superior quality of service for its customer base.
