So, their primary means of communication is through phone calls to be in contact with their loved ones. VIVA understands this need all too well and has been striving to build a bridge of communication to bring communities together on a bigger scale. You may have noticed the VIVA signboards displayed at cold stores and mobile shops or the banners showcasing VIVA’s latest promotion to call India, Bangladesh, Pakistan or the Philippines placed at the cash counters in supermarkets and hypermarkets across the Kingdom. All of these are part of VIVA’s way of giving back to the community and extending its reach to its diverse customer base. VIVA is continuing to enhance its leadership along with the strength of its distribution channel. With its prepaid products available in over 4,000 outlets, VIVA is not only expanding to reach out to everyone in Bahrain, but has also been actively supporting diverse communities by organising activities which can bring them nearer to their home countries. The company has been involved in supporting activities such as concerts, kite festivals, Holi (Indian festival) celebrations, quiz competitions and many more. With the expatriate communities living away from their homes, VIVA’s aim is to bring them closer to their families. One of the many activities VIVA has been at the forefront of organising is India’s festival of lights, Diwali. To celebrate this festive occasion with the Indian community, VIVA set up phone booths in labour camps across Bahrain offering a large number of people free phone calls so they could get in touch with their loved ones and wish their families well. VIVA also sponsored the second annual Kite Flying Festival recently, to coincide with another Indian festival, Makar Sakranti. This attracted more than 1,200 kite enthusiasts who came together to display their creatively designed kites and demonstrate their skills at Sakhir. To add to the festivities, VIVA introduced a special competition which offered kite enthusiasts the opportunity to embellish their kites with a VIVA theme. Winners were chosen out of 25 entries that submitted for this unique competition. Visit www.viva.com.bh.
