The1001 Nights Souq, is a medievally themed market replete with authentic Arabic stalls and vendors, and role-playing medieval characters. Articles on sale include silver jewellery, perfumes, incense, fancy candles, clay pots, traditional artefacts, leather goods, spices, nuts and candies. Set against the grandeur of the palace in its lush gardens, the market offers retail stalls in addition to several staging areas featuring live performances, camel and horse rides, a children’s play area, falconers, strolling musicians and Moroccan-style water sellers. Watch out for the acrobats, magicians, jugglers and fire eaters as well. Another attraction is a live museum that showcases calligraphy, brass decoration and other artisanal products, signature to the region. Add to this culinary offerings from Al Areen’s kitchens and you enjoy a day of shopping, entertainment and delicious food. “We are definitely looking forward to opening our doors for this one-of-a-kind event.
