The Continental GT V8 family represents the most accessible and efficient models that Bentley produces, without compromising on luxury and performance. When first introduced, they were presented as sportier models, with a more athletic stance, improved handling and a more aggressive engine note. Bentley has now taken it to a higher level with the stunning new GT V8 S. Unveiled for the first time in the Middle East at the Qatar Motor Show 2014, the new model builds on the V8 platform to deliver improved performance and a sleeker and sportier look and feel. It will officially go on sale across the region in April 2014. Bentley representative Kevin Rose commented, “Bentley has enjoyed remarkable success across the Middle East in recent years and the region is one of our most valued global markets. The Continental GT V8 S is an exciting addition to the range; we are confident it will be a favourite amongst drivers in the region.” Available in both coupé and convertible forms, the new Continental V8 S models feature an uprated version of Bentley’s twin-turbo, 4.0-litre engine that now develops 521bhp and 680Nm of torque. They also boast careful suspension modifications and a selection of new exterior and interior features. The Continental GT V8 S is given a lowered suspension and lower body styling that includes a sharp front splitter, discrete side sills and a subtle rear diffuser finished in Beluga gloss. The signature 20-inch wheels are unique to the ‘S’ models with an open-spoke design that reveals distinctive, red-painted brake callipers. Subtle ‘V8 S’ badges are applied to each front fender and, as with the other members of the Continental V8 family, the famous Bentley Wings badges feature a red centre. British luxury motoring Alongside the Continental GT V8 S at the show was a favourite among Middle East customers, the Mulsanne. Bentley’s flagship model represents the purest example of a Grand Touring Bentley, combining coach-built elegance and handcrafted luxury with immense power and sportiness that together offer the world’s most exclusive driving experience. It is a luxury car that makes the joy of driving its central focus. Bentley’s ever-increasing presence in the Middle East resulted in deliveries hitting a record high in 2013. Total deliveries grew by 45 percent (1,185 cars) in 2012 (815 cars), with the Mulsanne playing a major part, with sales up by 38 percent. The action begins at 6pm and goes on until 10pm. All participants need to take their vehicles through a safety check procedure prior to the race. Drivers are required to bring racing helmets or rent them at the circuit. Enjoy this action-packed night with your friends. Spectators can overlook the entire drag strip from the Batelco Grandstand. Spectators can enter the arena for BD2 and sit alongside their friend in a car for an additional BD2.
