There’s a lot to choose from. Although you might face the same problems when using a streaming app, it’s still great. Great British Chefs (iOS) This app is perfect for foodies. It has a list of amazing recipes by extraordinary British chefs in addition to information about them, with a massive database about the chefs, so there’s something for everyone. BBC iPlayer (Android, IOS) RATING: WHAT IS IT? BBC iPlayer is fantastic. Could you improve the way you catch up with all your favourite BBC shows? With the iPlayer app, you can. You can follow the best of the BBC from the comfort of your device. THE GOOD: The ability to access iPlayer pretty much wherever you are is a massive bonus. Long journeys will no longer be boring if you can connect to this app and watch your favourite shows on the go. The app is designed well with a very clear and organised layout. Searching for things to watch is even easier with a large selection of categories available to choose from. Not only is TV available, but so is radio; both work on 3G and 4G. THE BAD: One thing that is slightly bothersome is that iPlayer doesn’t always work in certain countries. Moreover, there can also be a time delay in the release of new materials in some locations, so you can’t watch the most recent shows. How well the app works depends on your connection as well. If you’ve got a weak signal, then you become frustrated by the time it takes the buffering to stream the videos. VERDICT: This is the app for those who want to stream their favourite BBC shows whenever and wherever. The apps industry has exploded since its inception few years ago, with British startups joining the party. We look at some of the best British apps available on the market.
