The hunt for a chef who wants to make it to the top of the culinary world resulted in Nadine Kanaan being crowned Italian MasterChef on December 18. The chef from Jordan won the title after a month-long series of cook-offs and competitive tastings at the restaurant. After battling against 36 other eager cooking enthusiasts, Nadine walked away with lots of amazing prizes. Most notably, she will have her winning ‘igloo fish’ dish featured in the 2014 menu of Cucina Italiana for all to taste. A fresh start Cucina Italiana offers the complete dining experience with a strong wine culture, refreshing cocktails, and of course smooth, creamy Italian espresso served all-day. The setting is warm, rustic, informal, fast-paced and unpretentious. The restaurant, located in Juffair at Al Safir Hotel, celebrates its second anniversary this month. Having proven very popular with diners, this trattoria serves up rustic, home-style dishes, prepared using traditional techniques and brought to you in a fantastic ‘Godfather-style’ setting. A special treat is in store for guests in the New Year with a new menu and a commemorative three-course feast. This will include selected beverage for BD15+ per person.
