This reboot of the popular series features the wisecracking protagonist Dante hacking and slashing away at demons in style. Dante is recruited by The Order led by his brother Vergil. His mission is to take down the evil corporate demon lord Mundus, who controls the world through propaganda, soft drinks and other contemporary means. While fighting alongside Danet and unlocking the incredible powers, he is transformed from a misanthropic anti-hero to the saviour of the world. GRAPHICS: A completely redesigned Dante says goodbye to his silverhaired anime look and embraces a bit more realism; a risky move which paid off. The intricate game environments are slick and gorgeous, especially the neon lights of the hidden world Limbo. Ninja Theory has put time and effort to make everything look shiny and fresh. Animation is top notch, and foes look and feel more organic. GAMEPLAY: Although complex move memorisation is not required, the combos require skill and precision to pull off. Players will find themselves trying hard to reach the top SSS rank, with higher difficulties offering a healthy amount of replay ability. Weapons like the iconic Rebellion and Ebony and Ivory resurface. There are new introductions such as the long-ranged Osiris Scythe and the crushing Arbiter Axe. It has a smarter AI which restrains itself from making the experience an ordeal for the player. WWE ‘13 (PS3) Step into the ring and relive professional wrestling nostalgia through WWE 13’s career mode featuring the Attitude Era. This version features the introduction of WWE Live, offering increased immersion for players through enhanced audio and presentation elements along with a new and improved character creation suite. Forge (PC) An irresistible blend of third-person shooting and RPG elements, Forge is sure to satisfy your craving for frantic combat. Master the assassin, pathfinder, pyromancer, shaman, and warden classes to unleash your fury on your friends. Limited map choices may annoy those seeking variety. Planetside 2 (PC) This free-to-play MMOFPS features thousands of players fighting out epic battles across three worlds. If the scale and scope of the game isn’t enough to grab your fancy, long drawn out fights on sprawling battlegrounds will. Get ready for a small learning curve due to the absence of in-game tutorials. GAME OF THE MONTH Slash away to glory From a controversial reboot of a popular series to multiplayer firefights on alien worlds, mayhem seems to be the key word this month.
