Bahrain This Month - February 2013

106 February 2013 www.bahrainthismonth.com motoring Ali Mohammed Ali has no qualms about admitting it. The 29-year-old fell in love the first time he set eyes upon the vision of his dreams on the Internet. When he came face-toface with the beauty before him here in Bahrain, his passion for what he had seen was only enhanced. Fortunately for him, his wife and daughter also shared his opinion! “When I saw the Kia Quoris I was impressed by the exterior looks. I did not even know what it held inside or the engine specifications,” recalls Ali of the moment when this luxury sedan from Kia Motors appeared on his screen. “I called Bin Hindi, the brand’s distributors here, and was told they had a car with them which I could test drive.” The Quoris is now an established and proud member of the family. “My wife, who generally does not like Korean cars, was equally impressed; if anything, she was the driving force behind our decision to buy the car,” explains Ali. “When you consider the features available, the price tag is more than reasonable when compared to other brands on the market.” Ali is more than happy with his acquisition. There is ample space for the family and his five-year-old daughter gets to watch her favourite programmes on the rear LCD screens. “The car has more than met my expectations, and I continue to discover new features every day,” he continues. “The first thing I noticed, though, when I switched on the engine, was the heads-up display (HUD) on the front windscreen. This both surprised and impressed me; I had not expected to see this on a Korean car.” Safe haven Among the major factors for Ali and his family in deciding what vehicle they would purchase were the safety features included as standard in the purchase price. “My family’s safety is my main concern when driving,” acknowledges Ali. “Apart from airbags and seatbelts, the Quoris has a big range of safety features. For instance, a week ago I was driving a little fast when suddenly another car swerved into my lane. The HUD showed an image of this car and the Quoris started to brake before I could react. It was fantastic.” Blind spot detection, a 360-degree view via four cameras, a radar that scans the road ahead, so that a safe distance from other vehicles can be maintained, are just some of the safety features found on the Quoris. An instant favourite It turns out that Ali is quite a connoisseur when it comes to cars. The Quoris is the fourth vehicle in the ‘garage’, which includes both American and European marques. So, when he says that the Quoris is his “favourite” we can take it he knows what he is talking about! Butler service For the Quoris, Kia Motors extends a ‘butler service’ as part of their after-sales support package. When the car is ready for its pre-determined service, Kia Motors staff will come to the customer’s home and pick up the Quoris (on a trailer) and take it in for servicing. It’s then returned to the owner when the maintenance has been completed. “I was really impressed with this service,” says Ali. “I had never expected this level of customer care; it confirmed to me that I had bought the right car for my family and myself.” The Quoris comes with a five-year unlimited mileage warranty and free servicing up to 100,000km.
