Mayo Clinic, based in Rochester, Minnesota, USA, has been ranked the world’s number one hospital for seven consecutive years by Newsweek-Statista ‘World’s Best Hospitals’ list, and it appointed the King Hamad American Mission Hospital (KHAMH), as its MCCN member in December 2024. AMH Chief of Medical Staff, Dr. Deepak Abraham, who manages the collaboration between AMH-Mayo Clinic says: “Over the last year, the KHAMH has achieved many milestones as a part of this partnership. “We hosted two symposiums in Paediatrics, and we brought Mayo experts as keynote speakers. Our teams participated in a wide range of Mayo Clinic’s educational programmes, including a Quality Improvement course, a Change Management workshop, Huddles That Heal, multiple nursing courses, an AI workshop and a Governance workshop, all with the result of strengthening our capabilities across disciplines,” he added. “Through ‘Ask Mayo Expert’, an online medical reference tool for healthcare providers, offering clinical guidelines, treatment recommendations and patient education materials, which our staff can directly and exclusively access from the Mayo Clinic, the hospital and the community are the community are gaining a lot,” Dr. Deepak Abraham also reveals.
