74 August 2015 www.bahrainthismonth.com india independence The popular Wholesale Restaurant has undergone a transformation and is now called Little Chef. A part of Lanterns Group, it is a great place to dine in and offers take away, delivery and catering services as well. Little Chef offers multiple cuisines such as Indian, Pan Asian, Middle Eastern and Italian. The 156-itemstrong menu is an ultimate palate pleaser. This makes the restaurant particularly popular with private parties, where you can offer an eclectic variety of dishes without having to order from different restaurants. In the past, this popular eatery was mostly known for its Indian preparations but the new menu includes a host of dishes from Japanese sushi to Thai curries and even Middle Eastern shawarma. A separate space has been allocated right next to the eatery offering authentic Turkish grills and shawarma along with Turkish pizza and fresh breads. “We take pride in the food we serve and our new kitchen team is here to deliver the finest taste across all cuisines,” says Nandan Prasad, the restaurant manager. “Our Turkish chefs specialise in charcoal grill shawarma making us the first on Budaiya Road to offer this unique flavour. They also have expertise in baking fresh Turkish pide or pastries and pizzas in our clay oven.” The restaurant has recently been given a facelift following an intensive refurbishment. With new chefs on board, a separate menu has been launched for outdoor catering ranging from intimate parties to lavish functions. This venue prides itself on using the freshest local ingredients to ensure the best taste and responsible sourcing. “People love hosting parties in their houses, especially in this part of the island. The kind of food variety and service we offer, makes us the most popular choice for catering,” Nandan adds. “As the summer reaches its end and temperatures drop, we are hoping for a considerable increase in the business of our catering division.” The restaurant’s motto is to serve quality food that speaks for itself; a sentiment well illustrated by Little Chef’s tagline “Where Food Talks”. 17 595-950 and 36 767-886 (for outdoor catering).
