122 August 2015 www.bahrainthismonth.com marketplace THE WATCH BOUTIQUE This leading watch manufacturer places emphasis on an uncompromising redesign of the timepiece and its control elements. In an age of technological innovation and digital domination, the wristwatch remains a classic accessory that not only provides function — it gives insight into the wearer’s personality. For Damasko Uhrenmanufaktur, the journey to becoming a watch manufacturer began with the vision of making mechanical wristwatches more robust, more accurate and requiring less maintenance. In accordance with this philosophy, Damasko developed new cases and components, tested new materials and designed extraordinary special solutions. Even being the technological leader for hardened stainless steel cases and components was not enough to keep Damasko satisfied. The company is constantly improving its designs; using special oils and greases for areas subject to particular stress, nanotechnological coatings for the reduction of friction, and replacing components more often. With the aim of meeting requirements for highest precision, aesthetics and workmanship, Damasko achieves a production depth of nearly 90 per cent on its self-manufactured models, which are based on more than 100 pending patents, designs and patterns. Besides its aviation industry-inspired watches, Damasko strives to create a harmony of dimensions with its inner bezel and designs. The clear, plain composition of the dial combined with the special shape of the hands lead to a precise readability even under adverse circumstances. Large Aviators have the first automatic manufactory calibre A35-1 developed with leading technologies such as the balance spring made of polysilicon. It is lighter and stronger than steel, anti-magnetic and dimensionally stable. The Damasko sporty chronographs are classic and owners of these models focus on understatement. Inside the timepiece there is an anti-magnetic, temperature compensated and shock resistant silicon spring, a reinforced barrel for a longer power reserve of 52 hours and a rotor with ceramic bearings. The Damasko bracelet is 100-per-cent made in-house in Germany and every connecting part is assembled by hand. The manufactory bracelet, including the deployment buckle, consists of the same icehardened stainless steel as the Damasko manufactory case and is nearly indestructible. Professionals in demanding environments test Damasko watches, which come with a professional endorsement from Airbus Defence Systems. These are not just watches with designs; these are watches where form follows function. Come feel it, and ‘wrist’ it at The Watch Boutique, Gate 7, Seef Mall. Call 17 530-329. Time is Precious
