Dohat Arad Park, near Muharraq Al Rashid Group, a division of Landmark Retail Ltd, the region’s leading retail and hospitality conglomerate, will host the seventh edition of the Beat Diabetes Walk at Dohat Arad Park, near Muharraq, on November 14. The walk will cover approximately 3km, following which the venue will also offer various complimentary fun-filled activities, including special ones by Fitness First, such as flash mobs, spot fitness challenges and dance routines. Kids will be kept entertained at a children’s zone featuring face painting, balloon twisting, stilt walkers and inflatable slides. In addition, an on-site DJ and live entertainment acts will help create a carnival atmosphere at the event. Stands serving healthy snacks will also be set up at the venue. Last year, the walk saw an extraordinary tunrout of more than 5,000 participants in Bahrain and over 60,000 participants across seven countries – Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman, Saudi Arabia, UAE and India. La Fontaine Centre of Contemporary Art BEAT DIABETES FAMILY WELLNESS IN FOCUS Enjoy a relaxing evening at a stunning outdoor venue as La Fontaine Centre of Contemporary Art screens the classic 1962 British-American epic historical drama, Lawrence of Arabia. Based on the life of T E Lawrence, the film was directed by David Lean and stars Peter O’Toole in the title role. Considered one of the greatest and most influential films in the history of cinema, it was nominated for 10 Academy Awards and won seven in total including best director, best sound editing, best film editing and best picture. The film depicts Lawrence’s experiences in the Arabian Peninsula during World War I. The themes involve Lawrence’s emotional struggles with the personal violence inherent in war, his own identity and his divided allegiance between his native Britain and its army and his newfound comrades within the Arabian desert tribes.
