CUCINA ITALIANA Cooking Challenge Do you have what it takes to be Bahrain’s first Italian Masterchef? Cucina Italiana restaurant, located within the Al Safir Hotel & Tower complex in Juffair, would like to hear from you! Thirty-six amateur cooks have the chance to register for the competition, which will see them participate in a series of elimination cook-offs throughout November. Two winners from each of the six elimination rounds will compete in quarter finals, from which the winners will progress to the semi-finals. The final, scheduled for late December, will see just four contestants compete against each other and the clock, vying for Bahrain’s first ‘Masterchef’ title. Executive chef of Cucina, Fortunato Giordano, will judge the competition along with Peter Lyons, general manager of Bahrain Family Leisure Company (BFLC) and guest judges. BFLC is the owner of Cucina Italiana. “This is a natural evolution of our cooking classes and the competition will showcase the simple, rustic style of cuisine for which Cucina is known,” says Peter. Participation in the Masterchef competition costs BD25. Coupled with full media coverage, the winner will receive numerous sponsored prizes in addition to having one of their winning dishes featured on the new 2014 menu at Cucina Italiana.
