Some model updates are easy to miss unless you know exactly where to look, but this one makes its intentions clear from the first glance. The bodywork is sharper, the stance feels more confident and the whole car has a stronger sense of identity than before. This third-generation Q3 has clearly been given more visual drama, with a bolder front end, a more expressive light signature and a design that makes it feel closer in spirit to Audi’s larger SUVs. That front octagonal grille immediately stands out, giving the car a wider, more planted look, while the updated headlight technology adds real theatre to the design. The LED lights, both front and rear, give it a crisp, modern glow, but the detail I found myself coming back to was the red illuminated rear Audi rings. It is a small touch, but a seriously effective one. It feels premium, distinctive and very current in a congested market where the little details stand out much more. A Digital Cabin Inside, the transformation is even more obvious. The cabin architecture feels more open and contemporary, with the traditional centre-console clutter reduced in favour of a cleaner, more thoughtful layout. The gear selector arrangement is particularly interesting, now on a stick behind the steering wheel, which frees up space and gives the cabin a more futuristic feel without becoming awkward or over-designed. The real centrepiece, though, is the screen setup. The 2026 Q3 features a sweeping curved digital stage combining an 11.9-inch Audi virtual cockpit with a 12.8-inch MMI touch display. It gives the dashboard a properly modern focal point and makes the cabin feel larger, cleaner and more premium. Everything appears to be angled towards the driver, which gives the Q3 a cockpit-like feel without losing the comfort expected from an everyday SUV. Of course, all the infotainment features you know and love come as standard, such as smartphone interface, wireless phone charging and USB charging ports for both the first and second rows. Add the panoramic sunroof, premium materials interior, three-zone deluxe automatic air conditioning and electrically adjustable front seats, and you realise your commute just got a whole lot comfie. Everyday Confidence On the road, the Q3 has that typical Audi smooth, easy-going character that suits Bahrain perfectly. It is not trying to be an ultra-performance SUV, but it doesn’t need to be; either the 150hp output of the Q3 35 TFSI Advanced model or the 204hp grunt of the Q 40 TFSI Sportback S Line are more than enough power for the Kingdom. In fact, the new Q3 is perfect for everyday life, especially with the confidence brought by the driver assistance package. With adaptive cruise control, park assist plus, a 360-degree display, lane departure warning, front emergency brake assist and side assist with rear cross-traffic alert. What I like most about the new Q3 is how complete the revamp feels. The exterior has more attitude, the lighting is genuinely striking and the interior now feels like it belongs to a new generation of Audi. It is still compact, practical and easy to live with, but it now has the polish, presence and digital sophistication to feel far more special. T
