Bahrain This Month - June 2014

June 2014 141 www.bahrainthismonth.com This summer, The British Club Bahrain turns a new leaf and meets you in a revamped avatar. Look forward to a season of excitement, with lots of activities planned at the club, starting with the launch of its striking new logo. This new identity combines both British and Bahraini elements, along with stylish typography, to create a progressive new personality. “The old logo has stood the test of time for nearly 80 years, but it’s time to embrace change and move forward,” says David Endall, the club’s general manager. “The new logo more readily reflects our modern approach to the club, its multicultural members and multitude of facilities.” The new look comes at the peak of the World Cup fever and the club has introduced a number of promotions. One of them is a special 50-day passport membership that allows non-members to come and enjoy every moment of the World Cup action. Priced at just BD75 for singles and BD100 for families, the offer allows you to save over 25 per cent on the normal guest fee, and is valid from the first match all the way till Eid-al-Fitr (June 12 to July 31)! “The passport is a great way to experience our sports and social facilities as it’s valid during the full opening hours,” says David. In addition to this, The British Club will offer an incentive to passport holders who want to convert this temporary access into full-time membership, after the World Cup is over. Existing members continue to benefit by receiving a BD20 gift voucher for every new member they introduce. The club houses a massive, cooled swimming pool, tennis, multipurpose and squash courts, indoor badminton courts and a health club. The food and beverage venues include Ascot restaurant, bars and outdoor dining by the pool or on the grass. The club serves as a hub for the entire family. There are activities for tots and toddlers in the mornings, swimming and taekwondo lessons for the kids and adults, social bridge for beginners and experienced players, golf, darts, netball, football and much more. “The coffee shop and lounge are currently undergoing a complete refurbishment, bringing a comfortable and contemporary vibe inside and doubling the dining area with a new outdoor terrace for everyone to enjoy, from the end of August,” adds David. i Call 17 728-245.
