Maki Bahrain Restaurant teamed up with the Chaine des Rotisseurs of Bahrain to present the first-ever Maki Bahrain-Chaine dinner, based on the theme of ‘Green Pathway’, last month. This theme reflected the many healthful ingredients introduced to Japanese cuisine by Maki, such as house-grown and capsulated extra virgin olive oil, exotic aromatic shiso leaves, fresh wild thyme and green tea powder. With the inclusion of such green ingredients, the restaurant opened up a pathway between Japanese cuisine and the Middle Eastern palate. At the Chaine des Rotisseurs Green Pathway dinner, award-winning chef Louis Kenji Huang presented some wonderful dishes such as the red quinoa salad with truffles. Doused with house-made extra virgin olive oil and mixed with Moroccan truffles, this super grain-based dish is now on their regular menu. The kanpachi sashimi, made from amberjack fish, was serviced with two sauces; yuzu honey, which is exclusive to Maki, and Obaoli — fresh wasabi mixed with house-made extra virgin olive oil. The tender and succulent US-certified Black Angus filet mignon was cooked teppanyaki style and served with a real ‘hon’ wasabi sauce and an Asian-inspired mustard dressing. The grand finale served to members of the Chaine des Rotisseurs was the signature special-recipe tiramisu. Hints of green tea tease a gourmand’s palate, taking this delectable dish to new heights. Khalid Almoayed, Bailli Délégué of the Chaine, indicated how much the guests enjoyed the meal. Several ambassadors and other leading personalities were present at the dinner, including Mohamad Najia, Bailli Délégué of Chaine des Rotisseurs-Kuwait. i Call 17 522-733 or 36 999-102, or email [email protected].
