Doing this meant there was no subsequent editing, except for dubbing the music,” adds Hervé. So, the students at Lycée Français lip-synched and danced complete with costumes and props. Some dressed as themselves and some as scientists, dancers, actors, basketball players and musicians. Hervé wore the director’s hat, putting together the entire production in just three weeks. Most of the work occurred during lunch breaks. “I was very impressed with the remarkable level of talent displayed by the students and their enthusiasm towards the project,” says Hervé. “There was a great sense of community as well, as students, teachers and parents all worked together to make the video a great success.” Hervé, however, quips that had he overly planned out the whole process it would surely have been a failure. “The key was to guide the students while retaining the spontaneity, vibrancy and the spirit of fun!” To watch the video, go to Youtube and enter “lipdub bahrain” as keywords. As the only French curriculum school in the Kingdom, here’s an institution that not only provides world-class education but also cultivates a vibrant learning environment.
