No, it’s not your favourite pair of trainers which Brad Pitt demonstrates in a multi-million dollar commercial. Even the best (read expensive) shoes, for reasons such as walking style, inherent flat feet and weight issues, can still lead to sore feet. This is where orthotics — insoles — come to your rescue. Fortunately for Bahrain, there is a specialised centre that provides customised orthotics that can remedy a number of feet impediments. “Our feet have a delicate structure, and often the damage endured by them may be painless but can be felt in other parts of the body,” says foot specialist Madhuri Dane, at the Gulf Foot Centre. “Collapsed foot arches, or flat feet, can be inherited or developed by weakening of the muscles in the foot due to high heels, ageing and weight gain. These are also a common cause for knee pain.” Gulf Foot Centre caters for such problems with the latest technical help and specialised doctors. The centre conducts gait analyses, foot scans and pressure measurements to produce appropriate insoles. It provides treatment for conditions such as corn, plantar warts, ingrown toenails and fungal infection in toenails as well. Part of the Gulf Diabetes Specialist Centre, the centre delivers great professional care to keep your feet in excellent shape for walking. Call 17 239-239.
