As we bid farewell to 2015, petrolheads are gearing up for the sensational selection of models set to launch this year. Motorcity: With showrooms in Sitra, Sanad and Nuwaidrat, this leading dealership promises plenty to look forward to in 2016. Covering a number of brands, there is something for everybody. This year, Motorcity will be launching the BAIC X65, Chery Arrizo 7, Maxus G10, DS5 LS, DS6 and Volvo S90. The BAIC X65 is a compact SUV built by Beijing Auto (BAIC). Inspired by VW Tiguan, the Senova SUV boasts a turbo 2-litre engine. The Chery Arrizo 7 is the Chinese brand’s compact sedan. Under the bonnet, the Arrizo 7 gets a 1.6-litre four-cylinder engine, mated to five-speed manual gearbox or a CVT automatic. Citroen’s latest offering is essentially a saloon version of the DS5. Like its hatchback sibling, it’s manufactured at the CAPSA joint-venture factory in Shenzen, China, with the aim of giving the marque a more premium offering. The S90 follows the lead set by the XC90 and shares much with its SUV sibling. It sits on the same Scalable Product Architecture platform and uses the same range of four-cylinder engines. Lexus Bahrain announced the arrival of the new 2016 Lexus GS range. The GS enters 2016 with a bolder design and new luxury finishes, in addition to the introduction of the first-ever rear-wheel drive turbo-charged GS 200t. The Lexus GS continues to feature impressive agility and sporty handling, as well as comfortable ride quality. This is no modest midsize luxury sedan. The engaging performance and amenities make the GS 200t, the GS 350 or GS 450h an excellent choice for delighting enthusiast drivers as well as luxury devotees. Meanwhile, the recent Dubai Motor Show (DIMS) gave motoring enthusiasts across the region a glimpse of what’s to come in 2016 — revealing a number of new models, stylish upgrades and new features. Audi: This German brand premiered three cars in the region for the very first time; namely the RS 3, the new A4 and the R8. Bentley Motors: The marque unveiled the Bentayga, showing it for the very first time in the region. Its makers say this model combines opulence with everyday usability. However, with a new W12 power train, the Bentayga is also one of the fastest and most powerful SUVs of the moment. BMW: The Bavarian car giant showcased the new 7 Series featuring groundbreaking technologies in the areas of lightweight design, power trains, chassis, operating systems, intelligent connectivity and interior ambience. Land Rover: Visitors to the Land Rover stand at this year’s DIMS witnessed the regional unveiling of the Range Rover SV Autobiography — the most luxurious and powerful series-production Range Rover in the series’ 45-year history. Lincoln: Arriving this year is the elegant Lincoln Continental. The new full-sized sedan integrates a variety of technologies, including a 3.0-litre EcoBoost engine, E-Latch door handles, LED matrix headlamps with laser-assist high beams and SPD Smart Glass tinting sunroof.
