22 January 2016 www.bahrainthismonth.com happenings Theatre lovers gear up for a fantastic evening of entertainment as Shakespeare’s greatest play, Hamlet, comes to the island. The world-renowned Shakespeare’s Globe will perform Hamlet as part of its two-year world tour commemorating the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare’s death and the first genuine world tour in theatre history. The play’s plot revolves around the Danish prince, Hamlet, who, after learning of the his father the king’s death, comes home to find his uncle married to his mother and set to take his place on the Danish throne. However, the ghost of the deceased king visits Hamlet and demands vengeance for his ‘foul and most unnatural murder’.
