The workshop aims to enable leaders and decision-makers to introduce fit-for-purpose leadership styles and approaches to their organisations. To mark the Chinese New Year, Bahrain Rowing Centre is hosting its first dragon boat races. Boats are crewed by teams of 12 who row to the beat of a big drum. If you’ve not seen dragon boating, the boats look a bit like giant canoes or even Viking longboats, with dragon heads at the bow and tails at the stern. This sport looks like great fun, and it is. But it’s also hard work and very good for you. Registration is currently open for teams of 12 – cost BD120 – and once registered you train for free. Call 36 678-922. The Indian Welfare Association takes to the desert for a family-friendly festival that’s expected to attract around 10,000 visitors. The Grand Sakhir Festival will feature magic shows, live entertainment, traditional Bahraini handicrafts, Kerala and Tamil cultural programmes, Kavi Sammelan, indoor games, a food court, more than 100 shopping stalls and an appearance by Hyderabad comics The Baigan Vines.
