The model, recently launched by Bin Hindi Motors at its showroom in Sitra, is already drawing praise from motoring enthusiasts thanks to its eye-catching design and impressive list of features. Optima is the fourth-generation of Kia’s popular D-segment sedan and features a modern, new exterior, a bold interior design with more space and an array of new technologies. Retaining the sporty image that has helped the Optima become one of Kia’s bestselling models worldwide, the latest generation offers greater refinement, improved ride and handling and also comes as a high-powered GT model. The dramatic revamp has seen improvements made to almost every aspect of the car, making it even more compelling proposition to buyers – both private and fleet – in a segment that is forecast to expand by 6.4 per cent to 5.76 million this year. Exterior styling maintains the athletic identity that made this model so popular, while making a confident leap forward to attract new buyers looking for something different. The new look was designed to be functional and sporty, with exterior dimensions that are marginally longer, taller and wider. The Optima is available with a 2.0-litre Multi-Point Injection (MPI) and 196Nm torque on offer. The 2.0litre MPI engine accelerates from 0-100kmph 10.8 seconds.The 2.4-litre MPI engine, accelerates from 0-100 kph in 9.4 seconds, while the 2.4-litre Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI) engine can make the dash in a hair over nine seconds. GT models are equipped with Kia’s new 2.0-litre Turbo GDI (T-GDI) engine, a high-performing power unit producing 350Nm torque that is capable of accelerating the Optima from 0-100kmph in 7.4 seconds.
