The first is a jewellery workshop, which will be held on February 4, from 10am to midday, where you will learn how to make a rose quartz and natural pearl necklace with earrings. It costs BD25 and is inclusive of all material and beverages. The second is the mosaic workshop, which will take place on February 6, from 10am to 5pm. Mosaic is described as painting with pieces and is a wonderful, accessible art form, great for artists and nonartists alike. You will be introduced to a huge variety of materials – bold, matt, shiny, iridescent and downright unusual – that you can combine to make stunning mosaics. This workshop has been themed for Valentine’s Day where you can choose your own design in advance, the materials for which will be ready and waiting for you on the day. Not only will you be able to learn the art of mosaic, but also cutting techniques, gluing, grouting and polishing. It costs BD25 per person and is inclusive of all material as well as a scrumptious lunch. The sessions will be conducted by Julia Vladokina who is trained on the classical method of Romana’s Pilates with a background in ballet and contemporary dance. This particular form of exercise is designed to give you suppleness, natural grace and skill that will be unmistakably reflected in the way you walk, play and work. You will develop muscular power with corresponding endurance, ability to perform arduous duties, to play strenuous games, to walk, run or travel for long distances without undue body fatigue or mental strain. Leading international industrial companies will come together to take part in the Gulf Industry Fair 2016 (GIF), which will be held from Febraury 9-11 at the BIECC. The event, organised by Hilal Conferences and Exhibitions, is strategically sponsored by Alba and Bapco and the National Oil and Gas Authority of Bahrain. Apart from international participation, GIF will also have a lineup of programmes dedicated to promoting innovation in the industrial sector with the firm support of Majaal (for industrial facilities), AMA (for manufacturing) and Asry (for maritime industries). Visitors and exhibitors will get a chance to experience the innovative industrial developments in various fields including aluminium, energy and environmental protection, industrial metals, industrial processes and manufacturing, logistics and industrial facilities, industrial security and safety as well as training for industry sectors. It will include the iTech Awards presentation. There will also be a two-day training programme – The Innovation and Lateral Thinking for Leaders Masterclass by Adi Breuer. The fair will stage a Career Day programme to aid students and unemployed individuals who hope to seek professions in the industry. Additionally, the programme will include Gulf Connexions guiding attendees with CV presentation.
