30 December 2011 BTM happeningsthismonth As part of the celebrations for Bahrain Women’s Day 2011, the Supreme Council for Women is organising an exhibition titled ‘Young Women Entrepreneurs’. The event will celebrate accomplished women in Bahrain under the theme ‘Bahraini Women in Economic Development, Partnership and Dedication’. Those taking part in the exhibition are all under the age of 45 and the event will highlight the competencies of these young Bahraini women in the field of entrepreneurship. Creative ideas and distinctive works from the social, commercial and educational sector will be showcased. Each woman participating is a Bahraini national and possesses at least five years experience in running a business. Further criteria were put in place to ensure that each participant is worthy of being involved, such as the holding of a distinctive award, a contribution towards supporting social issues that serve society and the ability to overcome obstacles. Other celebrations Many companies will also be paying heed to Bahrain Women’s Day by recognising the female staff members’ contributions.
