There really is no better way to describe Cucina Italiana, a restaurant newly launched in Juffair alongside Bennigan’s, than ‘truly unique’. With an unshakable passion for the Italian lifestyle from the cuisine to its décor and even their culture like never seen before, this bistro brings class and style to casual dining. “We have tried to get the rustic side of Italy to Bahrain and this doesn’t stop with the wood-fired pizza and freshly-made pasta,” says Kieran Moore, consultant chef, who has created the menu from scratch with extensive research and understanding based on several trips to the country. “There is a lot of dedication, hard work and detailing that has gone into everything from the floors and fabrics to the walls and the crockery.” You’ll know he’s right when you see the popular Godfather scene chiselled into one of the walls that serves as the backdrop to a grand table seating up to 18 diners. The leaning Tower of Pisa drilled onto a wall at the entrance and the image of Pavarotti sprayed onto another set the theme for the venue almost effortlessly. Speaking of the menu, food simply doesn’t get better than the traditional favourites they have to offer including scrumptious lasagnes and desserts. The chef recommends their braised lamb, marinated chicken and pork, which is cooked for 12 hours and then glazed with maple syrup. “Cucina Italiana brings a twist to the true essence of Italy. We believe that it is all about the experience and allow customers to lay back, relax and enjoy an unpretentious, comfortable dining scenario,” Kieran adds. Apart from cooking classes with the chef in their open kitchen, the restaurant also offers catering and delivery services. E Call 17 001-317 or visit www.cucinaitaliana.com.bh.
