Festive fare Join in the Christmas cheer on December 25 with their special buffet brunch, from 11am-4pm, with live entertainment and children’s activities to keep the younger ones busy. Gingerbread Cookies Located on the ground floor of the Kempinski Grand Hotel with direct access from the mall, T-spoon is home to confections and cakes. From December 4-26 you can enjoy a special festive afternoon tea, priced at BD12.5++ person, which has been created by the hotel’s executive pastry chef, Alexander Haebe. All the seasonal favourites are included on the menu, including baumkuchen, stolen, magenbrot, fruit cakes, panettone, pralines and a festive punch. Join us for some festive fun and ice some gingerbread cookies with your kids this holiday season, priced at BD5++ for gingerbread cookies including three icing colours. Alternatively, you could try making gingerbread cookies at home using this recipe created by Alexander Haebe. Ingredients: If made into 15g cookies, this mixture is enough for 100 cookies. Instructions: l Heat honey and sugar until dissolved at maximum of 80 degrees Celsius. l Chill to 40 degrees Celsius and add the two varieties of flour. l Store in fridge for at least 72 hours. l Mix baking soda with one egg yolk and mix the second egg yolk with baking powder and add to the dough mixture separately with ginger spice. l Add all remaining ingredients and mix well. l Roll the dough and cut into festive shapes. Glaze with milk and bake at 170 degrees Celsius for eight-12 minutes until golden brown. Cool at room temperature. l Icing can be made from sieved icing sugar, lemon juice and a few drops of food colouring to make a thick consistency and piped from a bag onto the cooled cookies.
