bahrainthismonth.com | AUGUST 2026 BACK TO SCHOOL 82 As the new academic year begins, Nadeen School enters another important chapter in its story, one shaped by nearly five decades of care, community, growth and ambition. Since opening in 1978 with just 29 learners and four teachers, Nadeen School has grown into one of Bahrain’s leading British schools while remaining true to the child-centred philosophy on which it was founded. Today, the school offers education from Early Years through to Year 12, with Year 13 set to follow next academic year, delivering the National Curriculum for England from the earliest stages through to A-level completion. The 2026/27 academic year represents a significant milestone with the introduction of Sixth Form, beginning with Year 12. The expansion allows learners to remain within the supportive Nadeen community as they progress into Sixth Form, choosing from A-levels and BTEC Level 3 qualifications before progressing to university and future careers. Throughout its growth, the school has remained committed to personalised learning. Wellbeing, creativity, leadership, sustainability and a strong sense of belonging are embedded throughout school life to shape the educational experience, allowing learners to pursue academic and applied pathways that reflect their interests, strengths and ambitions. Leading the school into this new chapter is Principal Paul Sherlock, who previously served as Vice Principal and Head of Secondary. During the past two years, he has played a key role in strengthening Nadeen’s academic provision while maintaining the inclusive culture that defines the school community. Academic achievement is supported by an equally strong focus on personal development. Wellbeing, creativity, leadership and sustainability are embedded throughout school life, encouraging learners to think independently, take responsibility and understand the positive impact they can have within their communities. The school’s purpose-built campus in Dilmunia has been designed to support modern learning through specialist teaching facilities, sporting facilities, performance spaces and creative environments that encourage collaboration and discovery beyond the classroom. As an international school rooted in Bahrain, Nadeen continues to celebrate the diversity of its community while maintaining strong connections to local culture and values. Looking ahead, the school plans to strengthen partnerships with universities, businesses and community organisations across the Kingdom, creating opportunities that help learners develop the skills and confidence needed for the future. Nearly five decades after welcoming its first pupils, Nadeen continues to build on its founding vision of providing an inclusive environment where every learner is known, valued and encouraged to grow in their own way. +973 17 728886 @nadeenschool The Next Chapter
