Al Haddad Motors won four out of eight major awards at the 2019 MCBME Awards that was held in Dubai. The recognitions include Best Pre-owned Sales Performance for 2018, Best Target Agreement Achievement for 2018, Best Corporate Sales Performance for 2018 and, lastly, Most Reliable Monthly Forecast for 2018. Porsche is adding an even sportier vehicle to the third generation of the its highly successful SUV range – the Cayenne Coupé. “The Coupé includes all the technical highlights of the current Cayenne, but has an even more dynamic design and new technical details that position it as more progressive, athletic and emotional,” says Oliver Blume, chairman of the Executive Board of Porsche AG. The highlights of the new Cayenne model include sharper lines with a unique rear section, an adaptive rear spoiler and a rear bench with the characteristics of two individual seats. The new model also offers two different roof concepts, which include a panoramic fixed glass roof fitted as standard and an optional carbon roof. Major Wins for Al Haddad Bentley marks its 100th year on July 10, 2019. To celebrate this milestone the brand has created the new Centenary Collection. The pieces feature the Bentley ‘100 Extraordinary Years’ signage alongside gold detailing similar to that which appears on every car built during this very special year. The spirit and style of an incredible century is embedded into every piece, ranging from clothing accessories for men and women to heritage luggage and a selection of exquisite home accessories, all of which have been designed to fit perfectly into your lifestyle. Bentley Style Hyundai has announced plans to introduce new ‘digital key’ technology on future models, allowing drivers to unlock and start selected new cars via a smartphone, in 2019. Users will download the digital key as an app, with each car allowing up to four authorised devices. The system uses highly secure near field communication (NFC) technology, with antennas fitted in the front door handles and in a wireless charging pad inside the car. Users unlock the car by bringing an authorised smartphone close to the door, then start the car by placing it on the charging pad and pressing the start/stop button. The vehicle will also recognise each user’s preferred settings, such as position of mirrors, seats and the steering wheel, as well as controls for the audio, video and navigation systems, and the head-up display. All Volvo vehicles on the SPA2 platform will be fitted with advanced driver monitoring technology from the early 2020s, to detect drunk and distracted drivers. The move is a response to figures from the American NHTSA, revealing that almost 30 per cent of traffic fatalities involved drunk or drugged drivers in 2017. When the cars detect an impaired driver, they could limit their top speed, alert Volvo on-call assistance and, if all else fails, take over and park the car on the side of the road. A lack of steering input, having your eyes closed for extended periods of time, extreme weaving across lanes and significantly delayed reactions are all signals for the sensors to kick in.
