While running a successful recruitment-consulting firm in Delhi, he decided to pursue his first love – comedy. His observations of middle-class families, married couples and current affairs make his jokes more interesting and funny. Amit’s humour is universal; he connects with all segments of an audience, middle-aged, old-yet-young-at-heart and college-goers. He has made a brand out of his name as a professional stand-up comedian. Amit Tandon also has a wide digital presence with his videos going viral on social media. To connect with a larger audience, he launched Grandmasters of Comedy, a company focused on bringing comedy to the corporate world. He has performed more than 1,200 comedy shows in all the major cities in India and across the globe. The 12-hour long festival is made up of different tribute acts brought in especially for their entertainment value. The confirmed line-up so far is The Who, Kasabian, Queen & Freddie Mercury, Ed Sheeran, Adele, Led Zepplin, Michael Jackson, Prince, The Beatles, Coldplay, James Brown, Bob Marley, Annie Lennox & The Erythmics, Pink, Lady GaGa, Essential Indie, Masters of Rock and more. Confluence features 23 teams of writers and artists who have come together to create around 33 works of art either inspired by words or art that has inspired words. Shaikha Lulwa will launch the event at 6.30pm on April 27. The exhibition is located on the second floor of Harbour Gate, at the Bahrain Financial Harbour. It will be open from 11am-8pm.
