The 3.6-litre V6 represents a fourth-generation, clean-sheet engine redesign and incorporates new features, including Active Fuel Management (cylinder deactivation) and Stop/Start technology, to enhance fuel economy up to a company-estimated nine per cent when compared to the previous engine. The new Hydra-Matic 8L45 eight-speed automatic transmission is offered with all ATS engines. Updates for 2016 include enhancements that make the user experience faster and easier with navigation, along with phone mirroring capability. It enhances connectivity in the Cadillac ATS by allowing smartphone users to connect with applications such as navigation, hands-free text messaging, entertainment and news through the display screen. There are also revisions to the active safety features offered in the available Safety and Security Package and the Driver Awareness Package. There are three new exterior colours: Cocoa Bronze Metallic, Moonstone Metallic and Stellar Black Metallic. Both the ATS sedan and coupe ride on the same 2,775mm wheelbase, but feature their own bodywork.
